How does Nextel charge me?
There are two components to the Nextel's pricing structure:

1. Subscription charges – based on the plan you choose for your business, this is a quarterly/annual recurring charge.

2. WhatsApp conversation charges – initiated by your Business. This is deducted from your Prepaid Wallet.

3. GPT charges (optional) – if you enable GPT for your chatbot, then you will be charged by Open AI as per usage. This will be deducted from your prepaid wallet.

For WhatsApp Conversations initiated by your Business via One-time Campaigns, your Prepaid Wallet on Nextel would get deducted upon setting any campaign live. Should your campaigns be cancelled before delivering or for messages that didn’t get delivered due to any reason, your deducted amount for such failed messages gets added back into your wallet at the end of the day.

For WhatsApp Conversations initiated by your Users (i.e Customers) or your Business in the form of 1-1 messages or Ongoing Campaigns, these are deducted in real time and you need to ensure you maintain sufficient balances in your wallet for uninterrupted communication.

Note, to ensure your Business and it’s conversations with your Users runs smoothly, we strongly suggest maintaining a minimum Prepaid Wallet balance of INR 1000 or above

So to summarise, Nextel's Total monthly billing = Subscription Charges based on your plan deducted from your saved payment method + WhatsApp Conversation Charges deducted from your Prepaid Wallet.

How does WhatsApp messaging charges work?
Instead of charging on a per-message basis, WhatsApp charges you based on Conversations. A WhatsApp conversation is defined as a 24-hour period starting from the first business message sent to the user. During this 24-hour conversation period, you can exchange any number of messages with the user, and you will only be charged once for that period.

The cost of a conversation depends on the type of conversation initiated by your business or user. Below are the charges and details for different conversation types:

  • Marketing conversation ( 77 paisa ): include promotional, announcement messages
  • Utility conversations ( 14 paisa ): include transactional, follow up and update messages
  • Authentication conversation (14 paisa): include one-time-passcode (OTP) messages

The above conversation charges are deducted from your Nextel prepaid wallet.

Is there any charge on using WhatsApp Payment (with RazorPay / PayU) offered by WhatsApp APIs ?
Nextel offers you to collect payments from users using WhatsApp Payment APIs. Nextel executives will assist you in integrating WhatsApp API with your RazorPay or PayU account.

There is no separate charge for using this feature with Nextel.

Can I use an existing WhatsApp number with Nextel?
Yes, you can use your existing WhatsApp application number or existing WhatsApp API number with Nextel.

For WhatsApp application number: You may need to delete the WhatsApp account for the number you want to apply the APIs for. Account can be deleted from WhatsApp Settings under the WhatsApp application.

For WhatsApp API number: If the number is being used by another Business API, you still can get it migrated to Nextel after getting the 2 Factor Authorization (2FA) pin disabled from your current BSP.

Once migrated to WhatsApp Business API and linked to NExtel, the number can be accessed on Nextel (dashboard and mobile app) only.

If it is a virtual number that is tied to Nextel, then normal voice calls can be made as usual, but WhatsApp voice and video calls cannot be supported via WhatsApp Business API.

How to add/recharge WhatsApp credit balance?
You can add a balance of Rs. 5000 or above from your dashboard under App settings > WhatsApp credit.

How can I see my credit usage?
You can view your WhatsApp API credit usage in your dashboard under App Settings > WhatsApp credits. In the section you may see credits usage every month by conversation type & country wise.

What is the minimum credit balance to be maintained?
There is no such minimum balance required, but your WhatsApp API will stop working once the credit balance reaches amount 0.

Can I get a refund?
Subscription charges and WhatsApp conversation charges are non-refundable.

You are eligible to request a refund only if the WhatsApp API fails to start on the dashboard.
